The multiple crash that occurred at around 7:20 am on Wednesday near Iju bridge, Ota-Idiroko road, Ogun State, tragically resulted in one fatality and two individuals sustaining injuries. Two of the vehicles involved ended up in Iju River.
The vehicles in question were an IVECO truck with the registration number AAA969ZY, a Ford mini truck with the registration BDG340XZ, and another Man Diesel truck without a visible registration number.
The spokesperson for the Ogun state sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs. Florence Okpe, explained that the injured individuals received medical treatment at Otta General Hospital, while the deceased was placed in the Ifo General Hospital morgue.
She further clarified that a mechanical fault in one of the vehicles was the likely cause of the accident. The FRSC is urging motorists to regularly inspect their vehicles for any mechanical issues and promptly address them to prevent accidents.
